The Challenge

The existing website faced several issues:

  • Inefficient product organization – No clear categorization, making navigation difficult
  • Lack of scalability – The previous setup was restrictive, limiting the addition of new product categories and templates
  • Poor SEO implementation – No structured metadata, schema, or sitemap, reducing search visibility
  • Basic e-commerce functionality – Needed WooCommerce Catalog integration for product browsing without a purchasing option
  • Needed an optimized web design – The previous design lacked a structured visual hierarchy and modern UI/UX principles, affecting user engagement and overall aesthetics

Research & Approach

To create a scalable and well-structured website, I used the following to achieve rapid results:

  • Bricks Builder – A performance-first visual builder to ensure clean, lightweight code and allowed for fast iterations and ease-of-use for the client to update media
  • Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) – Enabling structured product data and category organisation
  • Automatic.css – For maintaining design consistency with a scalable CSS framework
  • WooCommerce (Catalog Mode) – Allowing users to browse products without a direct purchase option
  • SEO Optimisation – Implementing Google Search Console setup, metadata, schema, and sitemaps

The Solution

The website was rebuilt with a modular and future-proof architecture:

Product Categorisation & Filtering:

  • Products structured into Commercial, Architectural, Decorative, and further segmented by Recessed, Pendant, Surface-Mounted, Outdoor, and Linear Lighting categories
  • Implemented custom taxonomies for better filtering and navigation

WooCommerce Integration:

  • Products added as catalog items with detailed specifications and images
  • Lightbox contact form for inquiries instead of direct checkout

Optimized User Experience:

  • Mega Menu navigation for quick product discovery
  • Slide-in animations for an engaging browsing experience
  • Designed UX/UI for increased conversion rate optimisation and better usability

SEO & Performance Enhancements:
